            Dell Venue 7

            Dell Venue 7

            Look and feel

This is a pretty slick-looking tablet. Its black plastic and rubber finish is definitely less premium than that of #Apple's iPad mini lineup, but at least you don't require a protective case. The first thing you'll notice is the bold concentric circle pattern on the back. It looks good and helps you grip the body even when using it with one hand - the only minor drawback is that particles of dust and lint tend to get trapped in the grooves.

#Android navigation buttons are all on-screen. The power button and headset socket are on top, with the Micro-USB port and volume buttons on the upper left. A fairly prominent speaker grille is on the bottom. The Micro-SIM and microSD card slots are hidden under a neat rubber flap on the right edge.

            Specifications and software

#Dell has continued using Intel's Atom CPUs in its tablets, and the new Venue 7 is powered by an Atom Z3460, which is a dual-core, 64-bit processor running at speeds between 1.06GHz and 1.60GHz.
The screen still has a resolution of 800x1280, though part of it will almost always be occupied by a band for the soft navigation buttons. This isn't the sharpest screen around, but it's good enough for reading books, surfing the Web, playing games and watching videos on. The primary camera has a 5-megapixel sensor and no flash, while the one in front only has a 1-megapixel sensor.
There's 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space. MicroSD cards of up to 64GB are supported. The Dell Venue 7 (2014) comes with Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0. 4G LTE is not supported on the bands used in India, so you're limited to 3G speeds. The battery is rated at 4,550mAh.
            Performance

The Dell Venue 7 (2014) performed quite well in all our benchmarks and we noticed a massive leap in performance between last year's model and this one. The Quadrant score jumped from 7,698 to 10,338 and the AnTuTu score from 19,094 to 30,429 (though these scores aren't entirely comparable as AnTuTu has been updated since then). The frame rate in GFXBench improved from 13fps to a very solid 32fps, and 3DMark's Ice Storm Extreme rose from 3,643 to 8,935. SunSpider's score improved slightly from 986ms to 958.1ms. It seems that Intel's latest generation of Atom processors shows much greater improvement in the graphics subsystem than the CPU.

Real Cricket 14 Studio update World Cup 2015

Real Cricket 14 Studio update World Cup 2015

Real Cricket 14 (Android | iOS) is one of the best cricket games on any platform, which is pretty impressive considering that developer Nautilus Mobile has been in business for barely two years. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is starting on Saturday, and Nautilus is releasing a World Cup update to the game. We spoke to Anuj Mankar, CEO and Creative Director of Nautilus Mobile on what to expect next from the studio.
            Small studio superpower
With a team of just 10, Mankar's entire workforce is a fraction of the size of development teams in most bigger studios. But Nautilus has bested the efforts of bigger firms in terms of production values and overall polish, even as it works on a new game and supports an existing title at the same time. Mankar attributes this success to the greater mobility afforded by being a small team relative to the competition.
            batting_real_cricket_14_nautilus.jpg
"Being a small fish in a great ocean, we know that the only way to keep going is to be fast and nimble," says Mankar. "The bigger studios are quite process oriented and, on the other hand, smaller studios like us are passion oriented. Budgets can get you resources and marketing/ advertising power; however they cannot necessarily always get a group of passionate individuals together who are willing to trust a vision and run by it."

How to Download and Install Windows 10

How to Download and Install Windows 10

Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones is now available to download. This is a pre-release version of Microsoft's upcoming mobile operating system. You should only download this if you want to try a new operating system on your Windows Phone device. Since this is beta software, many of your favourite apps may not work on it and upgrading to it right now is not recommended on your primary phone as the preview is still very much a work in progress.
            Supported devices
Microsoft says only six Lumia phones can download and install Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones. These are:
            • Lumia 630
            • Lumia 635
            • Lumia 636
            • Lumia 638
            • Lumia 730
            • Lumia 830

            Backing up your data
This is beta software and hence can be very buggy. That's why we recommend that you make a complete backup of your Windows Phone first. We have written a detailed guide on how to backup and delete all data on your Windows Phone device and you must go follow all the steps listed there before proceeding.

            1. Head to the Windows Insider page.

            4. Click Sign in.

            8. Scroll down and click Get the preview.
            9. Download the Windows Insider app on your Windows Phone device.

            11. Tap Get preview builds.
            12. Here you'll have to choose between receiving OS updates as they're released or after some bugs have been fixed. Tap Insider Fast to stay on the bleeding edge or pick Insider Slow if you'd like a slightly more reliable build.
            13. Take a look at all the warnings and then tap Accept.

            Windows 10 on Your Phone

            Windows 10 on Your Phone

Windows 10 on smartphones, desktops, and everything in between will pivot users into treating Windows as just another Web service, with frequent updates and subscription-based payments. Here are the most important things to know about Microsoft's announcements relating to Windows 10 on smartphones, and what we have to look forward to over the next year or so.

Interface elements will be consistent between device classes, such as the Action Centre which will work the same way and will have synced notifications. The desktop even inherits quick settings toggles, to keep things familiar.

There will be lots of new apps, including Microsoft Office

Microsoft also talked about other apps, including a new Photos app that will keep photos synced across devices and automatically make corrections such as red-eye reduction. The built-in Maps, People, Messaging, Music and Videos apps will also get cloud-centric overhauls, so for example, people who store all their music in the cloud will be able to create and sync playlists across devices.

            There will be new hardware
It was highly unlikely that Microsoft would let several months pass without new hardware introductions, but just to be clear, there will be at least one new flagship-level smartphone at the time of the formal Windows 10 launch. Staffers used an ageing Nokia Lumia 1520 on stage, so the experiences Microsoft would most like to show off are probably best suited for bigger phone screens. Expect a class-leading new phablet towards the end of this year.

            Cortana gains new powers

Microsoft's answer to Siri will have an expanded role across smartphones and desktops. In Microsoft's demonstrations, Cortana appeared to have a more developed sense of humour and a personality. More interestingly, Cortana will learn about a user's personal preferences and schedules, so it can save you time when checking flight details, restaurant menus, and more.

Skype and OneDrive will be everywhere

Microsoft will be using its in-house Skype and OneDrive properties to power a lot of the Windows 10 ecosystem. Messaging will be tied in to Skype on the desktop and on mobile, and Windows 10 will automatically try to route SMS and other messages through its own network.

            SwiftKey for iOS

            SwiftKey for iOS

SwiftKey has finally introduced emoji prediction for iOS devices in its latest update, apart from other features. Now iPad and iPhone users, just like Android users, can simply type phrases to see emoji suggestions and use it while chatting. Swype in the meanwhile updated its app with much needed features for Android users.

As a part of the update, SwiftKey for iOS besides bringing emoji prediction, introduces key-click sounds, which users can activate by going in the keyboards settings of the device. Support for 11 additional languages namely Bulgarian, Croatian, Greek, Hinglish, Icelandic, Indonesian, Latvian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, and Turkish is also included in version 1.2 of the app.

For iPad users, the SwiftKey app's latest update brings the SwiftKey Flow feature, using which users can type words by dragging their fingers on the keyboard.

Swype, on the other hand, has been updated to version 1.8 for Android users with new features like Android 5.0 Lollipop-based themes (Light, Dark and Bumble Bee), detachable keyboard for Android tablet users, new languages and more. New languages that will now be supported by the updated Swype keyboard are German, Italian, Burmese Zawgyi, Sinhala, and Vietnamese Telex.

Disney India Announces ICC Pro Cricket 2015 Game for iOS, Android, PC, DTH

Disney India Announces ICC Pro Cricket 2015 Game for iOS, Android, PC, DTH

The ICC Cricket World Cup is a mere seven days away and we fully expect mobile, PC, and even consoles to see their fair share of cricket games over the next few days. While Australian studio Big Ant's Don Bradman Cricket is scheduled to launch next week, a day before the World Cup kicks off, Disney India announced ICC Pro Cricket 2015 on Friday for iOS, Android, Mobile, DTH, and PC.

The game is developed by Indiagames, a company that Disney acquired in 2013, and one that has a track record of successful cricket games in the past, such as Cricket Fever Challenge, World Cup Cricket Fever, and Cricket T20 Fever.

Though Disney have claimed that ICC Pro Cricket 2015 is available on PCs and mobile phones (on iOS and Android) across India, Australia and other select international markets and on the DTH platforms, we could not find the game on any platforms at the time of filing this report. When it is available, however, PC users can download the game for a flat cost of $9.99 (around Rs. 619), while DTH players can access this game via Dish TV and Airtel. The company also confirmed that the registrations for the next sale of the Yureka smartphone will begin on Thursday at 5pm IST via Amazon India. Notably, this was the second flash sale that saw 15,000 units of the Yureka smartphone going up for sale.

The third flash sale of Micromax's Yu Yureka  last week saw 10,000 smartphones going out of stock in 3 seconds, while the second flash sale saw 15,000 units being grabbed in just 4 seconds. The first flash sale that had seen 10,000 units go out of stock in 3 seconds also saw a lot of controversy with site glitches including incorrect price listings and allegations the company actually made only 3,000 units available for sale.

On Wednesday, Micromax's Yu Yureka started receiving its first OTA (over-the-air) update that brought incremental bug fixes. Notably, the update was an incremental update and added security fixes, improvements for proximity sensor and dual-SIM functionality.
