            Dell Venue 7

            Dell Venue 7

            Look and feel

This is a pretty slick-looking tablet. Its black plastic and rubber finish is definitely less premium than that of #Apple's iPad mini lineup, but at least you don't require a protective case. The first thing you'll notice is the bold concentric circle pattern on the back. It looks good and helps you grip the body even when using it with one hand - the only minor drawback is that particles of dust and lint tend to get trapped in the grooves.

#Android navigation buttons are all on-screen. The power button and headset socket are on top, with the Micro-USB port and volume buttons on the upper left. A fairly prominent speaker grille is on the bottom. The Micro-SIM and microSD card slots are hidden under a neat rubber flap on the right edge.

            Specifications and software

#Dell has continued using Intel's Atom CPUs in its tablets, and the new Venue 7 is powered by an Atom Z3460, which is a dual-core, 64-bit processor running at speeds between 1.06GHz and 1.60GHz.
The screen still has a resolution of 800x1280, though part of it will almost always be occupied by a band for the soft navigation buttons. This isn't the sharpest screen around, but it's good enough for reading books, surfing the Web, playing games and watching videos on. The primary camera has a 5-megapixel sensor and no flash, while the one in front only has a 1-megapixel sensor.
There's 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space. MicroSD cards of up to 64GB are supported. The Dell Venue 7 (2014) comes with Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0. 4G LTE is not supported on the bands used in India, so you're limited to 3G speeds. The battery is rated at 4,550mAh.
            Performance

The Dell Venue 7 (2014) performed quite well in all our benchmarks and we noticed a massive leap in performance between last year's model and this one. The Quadrant score jumped from 7,698 to 10,338 and the AnTuTu score from 19,094 to 30,429 (though these scores aren't entirely comparable as AnTuTu has been updated since then). The frame rate in GFXBench improved from 13fps to a very solid 32fps, and 3DMark's Ice Storm Extreme rose from 3,643 to 8,935. SunSpider's score improved slightly from 986ms to 958.1ms. It seems that Intel's latest generation of Atom processors shows much greater improvement in the graphics subsystem than the CPU.

Real Cricket 14 Studio update World Cup 2015

Real Cricket 14 Studio update World Cup 2015

Real Cricket 14 (Android | iOS) is one of the best cricket games on any platform, which is pretty impressive considering that developer Nautilus Mobile has been in business for barely two years. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is starting on Saturday, and Nautilus is releasing a World Cup update to the game. We spoke to Anuj Mankar, CEO and Creative Director of Nautilus Mobile on what to expect next from the studio.
            Small studio superpower
With a team of just 10, Mankar's entire workforce is a fraction of the size of development teams in most bigger studios. But Nautilus has bested the efforts of bigger firms in terms of production values and overall polish, even as it works on a new game and supports an existing title at the same time. Mankar attributes this success to the greater mobility afforded by being a small team relative to the competition.
            batting_real_cricket_14_nautilus.jpg
"Being a small fish in a great ocean, we know that the only way to keep going is to be fast and nimble," says Mankar. "The bigger studios are quite process oriented and, on the other hand, smaller studios like us are passion oriented. Budgets can get you resources and marketing/ advertising power; however they cannot necessarily always get a group of passionate individuals together who are willing to trust a vision and run by it."

Disney India Announces ICC Pro Cricket 2015 Game for iOS, Android, PC, DTH

Disney India Announces ICC Pro Cricket 2015 Game for iOS, Android, PC, DTH

The ICC Cricket World Cup is a mere seven days away and we fully expect mobile, PC, and even consoles to see their fair share of cricket games over the next few days. While Australian studio Big Ant's Don Bradman Cricket is scheduled to launch next week, a day before the World Cup kicks off, Disney India announced ICC Pro Cricket 2015 on Friday for iOS, Android, Mobile, DTH, and PC.

The game is developed by Indiagames, a company that Disney acquired in 2013, and one that has a track record of successful cricket games in the past, such as Cricket Fever Challenge, World Cup Cricket Fever, and Cricket T20 Fever.

Though Disney have claimed that ICC Pro Cricket 2015 is available on PCs and mobile phones (on iOS and Android) across India, Australia and other select international markets and on the DTH platforms, we could not find the game on any platforms at the time of filing this report. When it is available, however, PC users can download the game for a flat cost of $9.99 (around Rs. 619), while DTH players can access this game via Dish TV and Airtel. For smartphones, Disney has opted for the freemium model for the iOS and Android versions of the app.

            Micromax's Yu Yureka Sale

            Micromax's Yu Yureka Sale

The company also confirmed that the registrations for the next sale of the Yureka smartphone will begin on Thursday at 5pm IST via Amazon India. Notably, this was the second flash sale that saw 15,000 units of the Yureka smartphone going up for sale.

The third flash sale of Micromax's Yu Yureka  last week saw 10,000 smartphones going out of stock in 3 seconds, while the second flash sale saw 15,000 units being grabbed in just 4 seconds. The first flash sale that had seen 10,000 units go out of stock in 3 seconds also saw a lot of controversy with site glitches including incorrect price listings and allegations the company actually made only 3,000 units available for sale.

On Wednesday, Micromax's Yu Yureka started receiving its first OTA (over-the-air) update that brought incremental bug fixes. Notably, the update was an incremental update and added security fixes, improvements for proximity sensor and dual-SIM functionality.

            WIND Mobile Announces Nexus 6

            WIND Mobile Announces Nexus 6

We are happy that WIND Mobile has announced that they too will be selling the Nexus 6 – Midnight Blue only – starting on February 5.  Their website does not disclose any pricing, but we must assume they will play nice with the other carriers and the Google Play Store – $750 outright and $280 on their best Tab plan.

The new Nexus 6 is a huge change from the older Nexus 5 – much larger, more high-end and more expensive.  The new model comes with a 6-inch QHD AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and 493 pixels-per-inch (PPI), making it a rather large device measuring 159.26 x 82.98 x 10.06 mm and weighing in at 184 grams.  A Qualcomm Snapdragon 32-bit 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz powers the device, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage – there is no room for expansion.

Nexus 9 (LTE) Tablet for $669.99 : Rogers

Nexus 9 (LTE) Tablet for $669.99 : Rogers

The Google Nexus 9 tablet, made by HTC, was officially announced on October 15, 2014 and went up for pre-order the next day in the US and a few days day later it could be pre-ordered at retailers like Best Buy.  Rogers now has the new LTE-enabled Nexus 9 in stock with pricing set at $669.99.  It is also in the Google Play Store for $669 – however, it is currently showing no inventory.  Now you can enjoy the power of 64-bit processing, Android 5.0 Lollipop and Rogers’ extensive 4G LTE coverage.

The Google Nexus 9 is a great tablet, made for Google by HTC.  It retains the soft rubber-grip backing we have come to love on Nexus tablets.  It comes with a 9-inch (okay 8.9-inch) QXGA IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and 288 pixels-per-inch (PPI).  Its processor is a Nvidia Tegra K1 64-bit dual-core clocked at 2.3GHz.  The Nexus 9 comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory  and there is no means for expansion.

The camera is a respectable – for a tablet – 8MP with autofocus and an LED flash – unheard of in a tablet.  It also sports a 1.6MP front-facing camera (FFC) for social media selfies and the occasional video chat.  It comes with a modest 6700mAh battery ,Dual-Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, is NFC capable, and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer.

            Lenovo Sisley S90

The Lenovo Sisley S90 is now available in India at Rs. 19,990, although we are yet to hear an official announcement by Lenovo India - and the smartphone is not yet listed on major e-commerce sites in India.

Lenovo had launched the Sisley S90 in China for CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs. 20,000). Not just sporting a similar look to the iPhone 6, the Lenovo Sisley S90 promotional images on the Web were almost identical to the ones Apple used for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Lenovo Sisley S90 is 6.9mm thick and weighs 129 grams, exactly the same as the Apple iPhone 6.

The dual-SIM (micro-SIM) Lenovo Sisley S90 runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat and is upgradable to Android Lollipop, according to the retailer. It features a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD (720x1280 pixels) display and packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
